Altar Servers – Altar serving is a wonderful example of “stewardship” in our parish community, offering your time to help during the celebration of the Mass. Altar servers can be any age from 8 to 100! The only requirements for volunteering as an altar server is that the server should have made their First Communion.
Lectors – Parishioners who read the announcements of upcoming events and celebrations prior to Mass. They proclaim the Word of God during the Eucharistic Liturgy of the Word and read the petitions and the Prayer of the Faithful.
Eucharistic Ministers – Parishioners who participate in the distribution of the Holy Eucharist during the Mass and bring Holy Communion to the sick and homebound.
Ushers / Greeters – Our ushers / greeters welcome people to Church, show them to available seats when necessary, pass the collection baskets, distribute bulletins and assist in many other ways at each weekend mass.
Camillus Society – Parishioners who volunteer at the Norwichtown Rehabilitation and Care Center on the 2nd Monday of the month for the 10:30 morning Mass. These volunteers make the preparations for the celebration of Mass. They assist patients in their participation of the Mass and take Holy Communion to those patients that are bed ridden.
Food Pantry – The food pantry is open on Thursdays, from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM. Donations of non-perishable food items can be dropped off at the back of the church. Thank you for your generosity!!
Garden Club – Serves to enhance and beautify our church grounds. The objective is to provide the church with a setting that will draw people in and make them feel welcome and comfortable. We are the lay volunteers who tend, water and weed the various gardens on the church grounds.
We are an unstructured ministry and there are no regular meetings to attend. We do have two annual planting days, one in the spring and one in the fall.
